The St James Grand Trail,
a truly historic event
A spiritual, cultural and sporting experience to discover… Today, the town of Le Puy-en-Velay is closely linked to the pilgrimage on the Way of St James. It is the historic and essential starting point for beginning your trip to Santiago de Compostella.
The St James Grand Trail is a chance to explore the Puy-en-Velay – Domaine du Sauvage section of the route, running across the Velay hills and the Allier Gorges. This historic route is now a GR trail, which has been bringing serenity to pilgrims for centuries. The St James Grand Trail provides runners and hikers with a real “spiritrail” experience.
