Eglise Sainte-Foy

Sainte-Foy (St Faith), a church built in Auvergne Romanesque style, is located in the town of Bains. The facade is of great interest for its rich ornamentation, a rare feature in Velay architecture.

Sainte-Foy church was built from volcanic cut stone in the 11th century, then radically reworked in the 14th and 19th centuries. During your visit, you can admire the western facade with its superb Romanesque portal with decorative mouldings showing human and animal figures above it.
Inside are the traces of mural paintings, a baptismal font and a pietà.
