Welcome at the Tourist Office. Your group will be taken in charge by a guide and will leave for a walking tour in the heart of the protected area.
Discovery of the architectural elements of the old houses, sculpted doors, turrets...
Visit of the Notre-Dame du Puy-en-Velay cathedral, a masterpiece of Romanesque art, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO as part of the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. Discover the history of a city of sanctuary and pilgrimage, crossroads of hiking, starting point of the Via Podiensis, GR 65 towards Santiago de Compostela. A walk in the heart of a thousand-year-old city.

Afternoon: The abbey through its history and heritage treasures (2h)

Accompanied by a guide, discover the impressive 14th century gothic abbey church with the marble tomb of Pope Clement VI, the 144 sculpted choir stalls, the flamboyant gothic rood screen, the majestic organ case and the famous 15th century "danse macabre" mural.
Admire the cloister and its galleries and then go to the Notre-Dame du Collège Chapel, which has been completely renovated and houses the 14 Flemish tapestries from the 16th century, classified as Historic Monuments since 1840 and National Treasures. Finish with the astonishing acoustics of the Echo Room where many secrets are whispered.
