The famous Centre Pompidou invites itself to the Crozatier Museum.
From 29 June 2024 to 5 January 2025, the Musée Crozatier will be presenting the exhibition "à travers champs": modernity and rurality in the collections of the Centre Pompidou.
This ground-breaking exhibition will feature 74 works by 33 modern and contemporary artists. The best-known names are Georges Braque, Marc Chagall, Raoul Dufy, Vassily Kandinsky, Kasimir Malévitch and Raymond Depardon, Raoul Dubuffet, Constantin Brâncusi...
The exhibition includes paintings, original photographic prints, drawings and three-dimensional works.
The guiding theme is an exploration of the links between modern and contemporary art and the world of rural life (landscapes shaped by agriculture and livestock farming, portraits of those involved in the agricultural world, revisited elements of the countryside's identity), which takes on its full meaning in the rural Velay region.
You can also discover the richness of the museum through its various galleries:
the historical gallery, the fine arts gallery and the science and technology gallery, techniques gallery.
