Description
Dark and cool forests alternate with open countryside, while the way across the Ranc mountain is rougher and more untamed. There are two physical and technical difficulties: the steep climb through the woods and the way up to the top of the Ranc with blocks of unstable stone. Here you make your way in Alpine conditions, combining hiking and climbing. This section should only be tackled if weather conditions are good. Morning dew and wet stone can make it dangerous. In this case, it is better to follow the alternate route. But ideally you should come back when the weather is fine: the scenery stretching all the way to the Alps is really worth it.
