Itinéraire cyclotourisme – A travers sucs et pays d’Emblavez

A circuit for cycling fans leaving from Rosières across the volcanoes, the Loire gorges and the plateau at Roche-en-Régnier. The trail is designed for experienced cyclists in good physical condition.

Description

You cross the Emblavez plain, with basalt volcanic columns and phonolite domes rising up in front of you. When you leave Rosières, the descent leads towards Beaulieu and the banks of the River Loire. On the way, you can admire the château d'Adiac. To the right, the remains of a tower can be seen on the Suc de Recours. In Margeaix, you ride across a suspension bridge over the Loire below a neo-Gothic castle. From the D103 road you join the D28, and then ride towards Vorey-sur-Arzon. Some visitors then continue on as far as the village of Roche-en-Régnier, while others prefer to follow the Loire to Chamalières and see the remains of the priory and the Romanesque church. You ride alongside the River Loire and arrive in Blanlhac. Mézères then emerges from the volcanic peaks, inviting you to the top of the headland.
