Itinéraire cyclotourisme – Perles du Velay et littérature

Description

This trail runs through an area where the “pearls of Velay” are grown: green Puy lentils. Follow the D25 road to Loudes. You then climb into the woods above Saint-Jean-de-Nay, via Céreix. The second part of the trail features a series of panoramas over the mountains of Auvergne, Mézenc-Meygal and the Devès. Take care during the descent from the Col de Fix-Saint-Geneys towards Vernassal. Further on, you arrive at a wooded bend that provides a green setting for one of the most famous castles in the Haute-Loire region, Rochelambert Castle. Quite a lot of leg-work is needed for the ascent from the banks of the River Borne. Don’t miss the elegant bell-gable in Saint-Rémy Church. Lastly, you arrive in Vergezac.
