Set off on a great circuit taking you from Rosières to Mézères along the Via Fluvia cycling route, then across the magnificent Chier Blanc scree. A red trail for mountain-bikers in good physical condition.
Description
The start is quite easy with the 5 first kilometres following “La Galoche” trail. You will see the wild gorges of the River Suissesse and the daring viaducts across them. Next up is a series of ascents and descents as far as the magnificent village of Mézères, built on the hillside with gigantic basalt columns (an ideal place for a break with picnic tables, viewpoints and terraced gardens). Then come some trickier sections before you cross the impressively chaotic volcanic stones on the slopes of the Suc de Jalore. After the village of Roiron with its dry-stone walls, you will enjoy the descent to Rosières. Just before returning to the starting point, you can see the mysterious calvary at Le Champ Clos.
