Itinéraire VTT – La Galoche A Toute Vapeur

A long trail taking you around the “Pointed Huche” before arriving at the village of Saint-Etienne-Lardeyrol. You then follow the first few slopes of the Chaspignac plateau before joining up with the Via Fluvia cycling trail on the way back.

Description

The trail follows “La Galoche”, an old railway line linking the River Loire and the River Rhone, and starts off gently. After a section at the foot of the Corboeuf ravine, you leave La Galoche for a long climb as far as the stone quarry above L’Herm. In between the volcanic hills of the Meygal, some nicely challenging sections will take you towards St-Etienne-Lardeyrol, then around the Suc de Mercoeur.

You come to the River Loire at Lavoûte-sur-Loire. The way back is along a fairly easy and relatively flat route along La Galoche, from Beaulieu to Rosières.
