Hôtel-Dieu : Espace Art & Heritage

A unique venue for exhibitions and new discoveries! The Hôtel-Dieu is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site as part of the Way of St James.

Description

The site once hosted pilgrims and was a hospital for the town's poor. It has now been fully restored after work supervised by the architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte. The Hôtel-Dieu is a major landmark of the upper town and contains an Art and Heritage area with tactile models, sound showers, games for all the senses and projections.
The old hospital pharmacy with its fine wood decoration (18th and 19th centuries) is a listed building.

But also the Hotel des Lumières, the digital art centre.
The two large exhibition rooms offer two immersion shows, one takes you on a journey to the heart of the Earth and the second invites you to follow the impressionist lights with the greatest painters of this movement.

The Hotel des Lumières unveils 45 minutes of immersive scenography thanks to the latest projection technologies and design sounds.
