The exceptional heritage of the town of Le Puy-en-Velay gives the Roi de l’Oiseau Renaissance Festival its special flavour. From the previous Wednesday, local inhabitants put on their costumes and enjoy five days in the Renaissance spirit.
It all begins in the boutiques in the big historic market held in the avenues of the Henri Vinay Garden. Restaurants and taverns spring up all over the town for some Renaissance-style feasting. You can try some Hippocras or Hydromel in the company of your Renaissance companions!

The Roi de l’Oiseau Renaissance Festival immerses Le Puy in wide-ranging scenes of living history. Everyday life in the Middle Ages, merchants and military camps, street performance, dancing, acrobats, music, an archery contest, historic parades, skirmishes and ambushes all over the town…
